A universe of crystalline glazes

Five decades of exploring

Swedish Isak Isaksson started working as a ceramist in the mid 1970s, gradually developing exceptional skill and a unique expression. His objects have been presented in numerous exhibitions in Sweden, Japan, Hong Kong and USA among other countries. Isaksson has a firm foothold in the ancient craftsmanship and the material clay, but his glazes are constantly evolving.

Glittering ponds, dewy meadows and underwater worlds

The vessel shapes are simple and often traditional, but the crystalline glazes open up unique worlds.

Step into the workshop

Isak Isaksson lives and works on the countryside outside of Norrtälje north of Stockholm. Surrounded by forest and fields, Isaksson constructs his own kilns, experiments with clay and fire and creates his own galaxies in glazes.

“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in”
